Built in New Haven, for New Haven boys
The Leopard Youth Boys Program is a local nonprofit organization. We run seasonal camps and activities during summer and winter breaks, and we stay with our boys through the school year with sports and self-control programming.
Why we exist
School breaks are the hardest weeks for a lot of families in this city. Parents work; boys are home with nothing structured to do. That gap is where a young man can drift, and once he drifts it is hard to pull him back.
So we fill it. Summer camp and winter camp give boys ages 5 to 16 a place to be every weekday — moving, competing, eating together, and learning how to handle themselves when things do not go their way.
Our sports programs and self-control sessions carry that same work into the rest of the year, and our outreach reaches the boys who need the most from us. That is the program in a sentence: we keep showing up, and we expect them to grow.

Show up
Consistency is the whole thing. Boys who know an adult will be there every week learn that they matter.
Keep it honest
Clear rules, applied the same way to everybody. Praise when it is earned, correction when it is needed.
Build the man, not just the athlete
Sports get a boy in the door. Self-control, responsibility, and respect are what he takes home.
Never turn a boy away
If a young man is struggling, that is the reason to bring him closer, not push him out.
